The excitement comes alive again: looking back at L’Étape Argentina by Tour de France

March 22, a date that has left its mark on Córdoba

The spirit of the Tour de France shone in Córdoba with the success of L’Étape Argentina

Córdoba experienced a historic weekend as it hosted L’Étape Argentina by Tour de France, one of the most prestigious amateur cycling events in the world, bringing together more than 2,500 riders for an unforgettable day.

Organized under the banner of L’Étape Series by Tour de France, the event returned to the country after more than a decade, reaffirming Argentina’s place on the international amateur cycling calendar. Participants from 15 countries came together to enjoy a unique experience defined by sporting challenge, stunning landscapes, and the thrill of being part of the Tour de France universe.

The race started and finished at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, where riders set off on two routes: a 134 km course and a 64 km course, both crossing iconic mountain roads and striking natural landscapes.

The long course took cyclists north of the province, passing through Río Ceballos and the challenging Camino del Cuadrado, before riding through towns such as Valle Hermoso, Casa Grande and Cosquín, eventually returning to Córdoba. Meanwhile, the shorter route offered an intense experience with segments through La Calera and the traditional Camino de las 100 Curvas.

On the sporting side, the level was outstanding. In the men’s race, Córdoba native Federico Jankunas claimed victory with a time of 3h10m26s, followed by Facundo Pérez Costa and Enrique Estevez. In the women’s category, Carolina Vanesa Maldonado took the win, joined on the podium by Romina Biagioli and Valeria Rossi.

The success of the event was also reflected in its impeccable organization, with a comprehensive system for security, medical assistance, and logistics that ensured the smooth running of the race and the safety of all participants.

With this edition, L’Étape Argentina not only left its mark on Córdoba, but also strengthened its position as a must-attend event on the international calendar, bringing the spirit of the Tour de France to new territories and allowing thousands of cyclists to experience their own legendary stage.
